Live Crawfish - Field Run
I’ve bought live crawfish from LA Crawfish many times. We live in both Texas & Iowa and I’ve had them shipped both places.
Recently we bought 40#’s, which is kinda light for us; because I was also smoking brisket.
The freeze & cold temperatures placed the order in doubt but I was waitlisted. Got the call the afternoon before, made the decision in a heartbeat & ~18 hrs later had those babies on my front porch. We washed them in my trusty craw-washer prior to steaming & soaking them (my new favorite way of doing them). I don’t recall seeing so much as 1 dead crawfish during our washing them; so 100% live delivery.
Again I’ll stress, the weather conditions were extreme. There was a decent size variation in them, which can be tricky to deal with. The bigger one needing more time & the smaller ones needing less time to steam. But we hit a happy medium and they All were very, very tasty.
Hats off to the talent there at LA Crawfish! They have a first rate sales, service, support & delivery operation and we do appreciate them!
